Job Advert Description

The Employment and Training team are looking for experienced, dynamic and resourceful Employment Consultant to join our team.  As specialist team, we deliver one-to-one information, advice and guidance sessions to One Housing residents and supported customers with the aim to help over 200 individuals each year to secure employment and develop their careers. 

The role

Based across our offices in Camden (Arlington) and Isle of Dogs (Phoenix Heights), you’ll work to provide our customers with the skills, qualifications and confidence required to get into work. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of customers seeking employment and career progression
  • Provide one-to-one information, advice and guidance sessions
  • Prepare personalised action plans linked to SMART objectives
  • Taking part in outreach events to support hard to reach customers
  • Supporting Housing Care and Support customers secure employment
  • Providing ‘better off’ calculations and money management advice
  • Supporting customers with job searches, CV, cover letter and interview guidance
  • Keeping abreast of changes in recruitment practice
  • Providing industry leading face to face and telephone support
  • Adding value to partnerships with organisations who can further develop our support offer
  • Using social media and new forms of technology to market our services and provide support
  • Securing evidence of all employment outcomes
  • Ensuring the efficient collection, storing and management of information relating to employment outcomes

About You

It is essential that you have knowledge of the issues and barriers facing people who are unemployed and economically inactive.  You will have experience and knowledge of Welfare to Work sector including welfare reform changes and employment support programmes.         Experience of Work and Health Programme is required.  You will be an expert in preparing CV's, covering letter, application forms and interview techniques and confident working to targets.   You will have Level 3 in IAG.

Although not essential, PTTLS certificate is advantageous.
