We have a new and exciting opportunity to be involved in One Housing's new Learning Disability service located in West Hampstead.

The Role

We require an experienced Learning Disabilities professional who is enthusiastic and motivated in supporting the Manager to manage this new Supported Living service in the London Borough of Camden. This post-holder should have the ability to drive through high standards and provide person centred care that will empower and enable customers to greater independence.

As a Senior Care and Support Assistant (Deputy) you will be responsible in supporting the Manager in the supervision of the team and will need to build and maintain close relationships with families. The post holder will have the ability to assist in growing and developing the staff team to ensure the right skills mix to deliver the required outcomes for this service.

Role Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ of working in care and support services for people with Learning disabilities
  • Knowledge and experience of CQC standards and CQC compliance
  • Experience and knowledge of effective staffing and budget management.
  • Experience of staff management, development and retention in a care and support setting
  • Experience of referral and assessment process from initial enquiry to move-in and settle-in for people with a varied diagnosis of learning disabilities. E.g. Autism, Mild, Moderate, Severe and Challenging behaviour.
  • Be highly organised and able to work to conflicting and challenging deadlines
  • Ability to influence and lead staff
  • Ability to set and deliver objectives
  • Ability to make clear and reasoned decisions with comprehensive recommendations
  • Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of the application of Health & Social Care Act in service delivery.
  • Flexible to work 5 days over a 7-day week including Sleep-ins
