We have an exciting business support opportunity in our Housing Care and Support division.  This position is central to the coordination, planning and promotion our workforce training programme, and will play a key role in managing the division’s business systems.

The post holder will work as part of our Service Development Team, supporting the delivery of high quality care and support services, new business opportunities are identified and appropriately managed and a high standard of business support is delivered.

Due to the nature of contact with staff and stakeholders this role has a high profile and requires the development of effective professional relationships.

Role Purpose

This post is the central point within Housing Care and Support for the coordination and administration of training, and as such plays a key role in the evaluation of delivery methods and providers, ensuring that our workforce training programme is well-run and value for money.  

 

  • The post will provide support for new business and bid submissions, assisting with researching, formatting and completing bid documents
  • The post is responsible for maintaining a number of critical business systems, such as our safeguarding database, and therefore attention to detail is vital.  
  • There is daily contact with staff and stakeholders and so the postholder must be able to demonstrate excellent phone and face-to-face communication skills.
  • The post will assist with a range of business support tasks, such as document management, drafting content, running reports and presenting datasets.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

To be an effective Business Support Officer, you will have the following: -

  • Ideally have a proven track record working within housing association sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders
  • Experience assisting with events and project management
  • Experience of providing administrative and business support
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Good negotiation skills with the ability to work with customers, colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve the aims of the organisation
  • Ability to work flexibly and effectively in a changing and fast-paced environment
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and communicate it clearly
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint
  • Experience using computerised systems and administrative processes
