We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our team of six other Management Accountants, reporting to the Head of Management Accounts.  You will work closely with the Housing Care and Support (HCS) Finance Business Partner to deliver Management Accounts for the HCS division of the business and play a key role in supporting our end of year statutory accounts for the One Housing Group.

The Role

  • Ensure production of monthly invoice schedules for all agency-managed schemes, report on performance and liaise as necessary with agencies and staff
  • Ensure all HCS income receivable is monitored in an efficient and timely manner, working closely with the Sales ledger and Rents team within Finance
  • Ensure all accounting entries are processed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure accurate monthly management accounts are produced in-line with agreed timeframes
  • Support, and work closely with the HCS finance business partner to provide financial information as required, including financial reports on transactions, ledger reports, and information on individual accounting entries such as accruals, provisions, and other financial data.
  • Load the annual budgets in to the finance system
  • Update management account forecasts in the finance system as required
  • Prepare journals for accrued income, prepayments and other required entries monthly.
  • Prepare and post monthly salary journals to the General Ledger ensuring transactions are correctly coded.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and working papers within the agreed time scales in time for the annual external audit.
  • Support the production of certificates for funders to ensure they are prepared and audited in accordance with the relevant authority’s request.
  • Assist in the delivery of benchmarking data, contributing to the interpretation of the outcomes.
  • Keep up to date with Financial Reporting Standards, SORPs, HMRC and other regulatory requirements.

About You

You must be a Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) and it is essential that you have previous experience of working as a Management Accountant collaboratively across teams.

You should have recent experience of budgeting, forecasting and critically analysing outputs. 

Knowledge and experience of Sun Accounting software and experience working for a medium/large sized Housing Association or Care sector is desirable.

You should have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
