|Job Advert Description||
We are currently looking for a Catering Assistant on a part time basis (16 hours per week) to oversee the day to day operation of the kitchen and bar within our extra care scheme, Beaumont House, located in Walton-on-the-Naze.
Beaumont House is a collection of brand new purpose-built apartments for the over-55s. There are 60 self-contained spacious and modern apartments, complemented by a range of fantastic community facilities, including a bar, lounge, restaurant, spa, guest suite and beautiful communal gardens for socialising with friends and family. The scheme enables residents to live completely independently with high quality on-site care and support available if needed.
About the Position
This fast-paced but rewarding position will see our successful candidate act as a responsible and reliable member of the team, helping to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages and assisting in the preparation, presentation and service of the specified menu. You will also perform any other duties which may be reasonably required, including welcoming and serving customers, recording sales accurately, and communicating customer feedback to management.
You will also assist with the daily and weekly cleaning duties and any stocktaking and banking duties, plus ensure all controls and procedures are maintained to meet all hygiene legislation. Attending training courses as required is also a key requirement of the role.
Boasting at least one year’s experience in a commercial kitchen/front of house environment and preferably holding a level two food safety certificate, you must have excellent customer and food service skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. You will possess a sound knowledge of health and safety and be able to demonstrate a calm, driven and collaborative personality. The flexibility to work evenings and weekends, plus good written and spoken English, are also essential requirements of the role.
