About us

One Housing helps people to ‘live better’ by providing high quality homes and care across London and the south east. We manage approximately 16,000 homes and have plans to build 3,500 more by 2020. We also care for over 11,000 people to help them live independently.

We build and sell new homes on the open market or rent them out commercially to raise money for more affordable homes and for services for our customers. In the last three years we have delivered more than 1,500 new affordable homes to help meet the housing shortage. About the role

As a Volunteering and Partnerships Officer, you will:

  • Work with residents who want to take part in volunteering projects or community activities
  • Work in partnership with volunteer centres and other partners to offer mentoring support to unemployed residents
  • Organise the delivery of befriending services to isolated, elderly residents and those with learning disabilities
  • Design and deliver a personal home energy saving information and guidance programme, with particular focus on vulnerable, isolated and unemployed residents
  • Initiate and co-ordinate the recruitment of resident volunteers
  • Plan and facilitate new projects involving volunteers that meet corporate priorities
  • Produce timely and accurate project reports on progress
  • Successfully achieve KPI targets for volunteering and partnership activities

This role is a full time position, Monday - Friday with occasional weekends.

About you

You must have:

  • Experience of providing high quality, customer focused, value for money services and volunteering programmes that involve and empower residents
  • Experience of developing and successfully managing relationships with residents, partners and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills able to deal effectively with competing demands.
  • Experience of working with hard to reach groups with a variety of barriers and diverse needs.
  • Experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective internal and external partnerships
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
