We are looking for motivated, flexible and committed individuals to provide support to our clients.  We support people with a variety of complex needs including mental health, alcohol and drug dependency, physical and learning disability, younger and elderly people, offenders and victims of domestic violence.   We also specialise in supporting those that are homeless and young parents. 

This exciting and challenging new role is situated within our new purpose built 24hr Homelessness and complex needs service opening soon in Bedford.  You will be working with individuals and their families to prevent homelessness and improve long-term positive outcomes.  This is an excellent opportunity to get involved at grass roots level and to make your mark on this exciting new service.

As a Support Officer, you will ideally have some experience, skills and knowledge in the area of support planning, risk assessment and review and be able to communicate effectively with a number of professional agencies with and on behalf of your customers.

You will carry out assessments and coordinate the support package delivered to customers during their time at the service, regularly reviewing and monitoring these, to ensure they remain effective.

To join us as a Support Officer, you will ideally have:

  • Experience (personal or professional) of working with one of the following client groups; mental health, younger people, older people, substance misuse, physical disabilities and/or learning disabilities, domestic violence, homelessness, young parents
  • The ability to undertake assessments and work with individual support plans in an environment that encourages service user consultation and involvement
  • The ability to engage with clients’ and promote their rights
  • A well-organised approach, team ethos and good communication skills
  • Basic office IT skills
  • To work on a rota, which may include evenings and weekends
  • A passion for providing care & support to others
